PARISH MAINTENANCE & DEVELOPMENT

Picture
St Monica's Catholic Church is a Heritage Listed Building with a Foundation Stone blessed by Archbishop Carr on December 2, 1900. Preserving its beauty and heritage is a cost of great expense to the Parish despite the misconception that it is maintained by the Melbourne Archdiocese.  The upkeep and maintenance of the historical main Church building , the original Presbytery House , Parish Hall ,  Symons Centre , Mercy Place and extensive gardens and grounds is only maintained by Parishioner Giving and Donations - at present this covers existing recurring maintenance items but is not addressing the costs that would be associated with some major restoration or refurbishment costs.  The plan is to formulate a restoration program. To initially gain an understanding of what the congregation see as a priority we invite you to provide feedback to us. Bellow are  some of the larger issues we are currently focusing on.

St. Monica's Catholic Parish is committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and vulnerable adults.
We respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, as the traditional caretakers of the land which is St. Monica's Catholic Parish.
We acknowledge the Elders, past and present. May we, too, be good stewards of this land.
We acknowledge and thank Mr. Paul Danaher for his incredible photography of our church stained glass windows.
