FUNERALS
"Grant, Almighty God and Father, that through this mystery your servant, who has gone to the rest in Christ, may share in the joy of his resurrection." (from an opening prayer)
In the Parish of St Monica’s, we often first hear about the death of one of our Parishioners, or someone whose family’s wish is that their loved one be buried from St Monica’s, via contact from a Funeral Director. Once that contact has been made it is usual that one of the priests of our Parish will then make contact with the family of the deceased to arrange a time to meet and plan the celebration of the Funeral Liturgy. Please understand that funeral arrangements are best made by the funeral director and we would expect to liase with them with regards to funeral dates and times.
During the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, St Monica's is still accepting funeral requests with the appropriate precautions put in place. This means limiting funerals to the government mandated number of attendees. Funeral Directors must first contact the Parish Office to notify us of the passing of a loved one. The Funeral Director must then fill in and return the Deceased Details Form below to the parish email (mooneeponds@cam.org.au) to begin the planning process.
